Above: Hitam (Black) and her kittens :)
I would like to introduce Hitam, the stray mummy cat which umie feeds everyday. Umie named her Hitam (Black) because of the colour of her fur. She will wait for umie to feed her in front of the door everyday . Hitam had given birth to a few kittens and now she has 3 cute kittens. Umie tries to hold the kittens but they are all so fierce! They will hiss at umie and umie was even bitten by one of the kitten.
Umie managed to capture the kittens' picture when they tried to hide from her. The kittens are really cute right? Umie wishes and hopes she could hold and play with them... She also hopes that the kittens will not go far and will stay near for food. Any idea on how to make the kittens want to come near and let umie touch them?
Umie has few wedding invitations to attend on this weekends... If only I can follow her... : p
We think offerring small food items will be good to make mommy kitten like you.

They are all beautiful kitties...Once the kittens start eating at your door like the Momma kitty and get a little used to you, maybe they will become more friendly; I think they are acting like that because they are scared...Be patient and cautious and I think they will come around in time...Good luck...Happy Friday sweet friends...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

ReplyDeleteHitam and her sweet kitties are beautiful! I think that the more the kitties get used to you the more they will trust you. I think lots of patience and strong skin! They are just really scared but will soon realise that umie is a lovely person and there really is nothing to be scared about! Good luck!!

Put a little food out and make sure Black sees it's from you. Be patient, she may be slow to tame.

Food and a lot of patience might just do it! They sure are cute!
ReplyDeleteOur mommy's first cat was a feral kitten. She fed him twice every day. And then sit with him on the steps while he ate so the big kitties would not take his food. After many days, the kitten would let mommy touch him, then brush him and finally hold him. It takes time to build trust.

Oh it is so great that umie is helping and feeding Hitam and her babies. WE think if she feeds them all evenually they will learn to trust her so she can hold and pet them!

ReplyDeleteIn my shop also came a grey male cat after my dog pass away. Very manja. He like to vomit and I don't know why. We gave him cat foods and fish too. I don't know how to give a name to him, just call him "meow"! Haha

You could lure them out with tuna. Thats always worked for me. Just don't let them have much of it to eat. Just give them very little. That way their little tummy doesn't get upset.
